A Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy service for cutaneous melanoma is offered by the Plastic Surgery Department based in Morriston Hospital. This can be offered for melanoma to all skin sites for patients residing in mid- and south Wales.
For Head & Neck sites, this dedicated referral form contains all the acceptance criteria. Please note that these are expected to change and be less restrictive over time, as COVID pressure upon resources ease – the most up-to-date form will always be on this site.
The form is to be e-mailed to the dedicated e-mail account (there is a button on the form to facilitate this). You will then receive a confirmation e-mail and once the patient has been registered, your completed referral form will be available to view within Welsh Clinical Portal. You do not need to send any additional referral letter. Using this form will bypass a number of steps in the referral pathway and ensure your patient is seen more quickly.
For non-Head & Neck sites of cutaneous melanoma, referrals are made by letter, directed to Ms. Hemington-Gorse, Mr. Cubitt and Ms. Pope-Jones in Morriston Hospital.
