In March 2025, members of the Palliative and End of Life Care team attended the Palliative Care Congress (PCC) in Belfast, hosted by the Association for Palliative Medicine of Great Britain and Ireland (APM).
This flagship annual event welcomed over 500 delegates from around the world, bringing together a wide and diverse multidisciplinary community committed to advancing palliative and end-of-life care.
A highlight of the congress was a keynote session featuring our Clinical Lead, Dr Idris Baker, who spoke alongside the other national leads from across the UK. This powerful panel reflected the collaborative ethos of palliative care across the four nations and reinforced the importance of clinical leadership in shaping the future of services.
The event provided not only a platform for thought leadership, but also a valuable opportunity for networking, learning, and representing Wales on a national and international stage.
Several consultants from across Wales were in attendance, underscoring our strong presence and commitment to engaging with the broader professional community.

We’re proud to have taken part in this year’s congress and look forward to applying what we’ve learned to improve care for the people and communities we serve.
