The Wales Critical Care Network focuses on improving quality of care for critically ill patients throughout Wales.
Covering 13 Critical Care units across six health boards, we take a whole-system approach to ensuring the delivery of safe and effective services across the Welsh health community and provide valuable expertise, advice and facilitation.
We have implemented a very clear and effectively designed organisational structure, which ensures clear lines of accountability, effective two-way communication and clearly defined work-streams.
This structure allows for integration of both management and clinical staff who, together, have adopted a common approach for planning and delivering the needs of the critically ill patient, and enables ideas to be exchanged and best practice shared easily and effectively across all units within the Network for the benefit of patients, carers and staff.
